AFCON 2023 Knockout Stage

With the group stage games done 16 teams have managed to secure their spot in for the Knockout Stage. Unfortunately the Black Stars are no longer part of the tournament. The same applies to Algeria, Tunisia, Tanzania, Zambia, Gambia, Mozambique and lastly Guinea-Bissau. While these 8 teams conclude their campaign at group stage for the remaining 16 teams it’s now all or nothing in every match.

So, let’s brace for thrilling Round of 16 clashes! The AFCON 2023 Knockout Stage starts on 27 January and by the end we will know the eight teams that then move on to the quarterfinals.

In addition to the top two teams from each of the six groups also the best four third-placed teams have qualified for the AFCON Round of 16:

AFCON Round of 16 Games Overview

That is to say, hosts Ivory Coast can be really lucky that they are still part of the 2023 AFCON tournament.
